//jazz band figures inside the Lakeview Lunch diner in Toronto.
Passing by the Lakeview last night, I was looking for a coffee after a few frustrations. Turns out, the current owners have been booted by the landlord and the diner is now closed. The sign in the doorway is formal and the news bittersweet... it could be a great thing if there's going to be new management (the people running it recently had even die-hards like me staying away) or a terrible thing if it just winds up shutting down. Probably the most authentic 40's diner in the city, I only wish I had the cash to take a stab at running it myself.
Decided to snap a photo of this jazzy bunch atop a cabinet behind the counter as they fit this day quite well... I'm throwing a Roaring 20's/jazz age party tonight.
