//protest sign in Toronto's Earlscourt Park.
For weeks now, a municipal workers strike has put garbage collection on hold in Canada's biggest city. As a result, a number of public spaces have been turned into temporary dump sites -- an awful sight, smell and threat to neighbouring communities. Earlscourt is one of those sites, just a block away from my studio. The smell has me keeping the windows shut tight at night now, when I could be letting the cool air in instead of wasting electricity on A/C. Really hoping both irresponsible parties in this dispute settle things before any more damage is done to this beautiful city.
