//old storefront sign on the corner of McCaul & Queen St West in Toronto.
Covered for decades by modern signage, this hand-painted sign recently emerged after some horrible vinyl advertising was taken down off the corner shop. I'd seen it briefly at night a couple years ago when the store was first being stripped, but by the time I returned by day, it was covered again. A week or so ago, I noticed it had re-appeared, only worn, peeling and filthy from winters under the vinyl. I snapped a few photos, content to have something and went home, only to find a article in my inbox about the new building that is going to replace this one completely.
