//Italian fans pour out onto St. Clair West to celebrate their World Cup win. (Canon 30D)
Spent all day at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition yesterday and had to be 'updated' on the game status via excited phone calls from my Italian mother. It was hilarious. Once the news hit that Italy had won, plans for roof shots began.
The pastor at St Nicholas church near my home agreed to let me climb up onto their roof -- located at about the mid-point of Corso Italia (between Lansdowne & Dufferin)... all I had to do was get the exhibit packed up, and my butt back up to St. Clair before the sun set. It was tough, but I made it, and as it turned out, even more than the usual strip was shut down by joyful fans. St. Clair West ended up being closed to major traffic between Caledonia and Bathurst(!!) at the height of it all. This shot faces west towards Caledonia... a shot with a Bathurst view from my location is impossible unless from the air (helicopter rental anyone?)
UPDATE -- More photos are UP on Flickr!
