Very interesting as always. Must have been a very wealthy prominent family for that type marker!?! Presumably not much space for graveyards as in Greece? The robes on the figures are glowing and makes it look real to a certain extent. Janice @ 2006-10-23

Georgia - no, we were just in a really dark walkway.
Janice - In this particular Genoan cemetery, there is quite a vast collection of 19th century (and earlier) graves of grandeur like this one. they are all in these long semi-outdoor hallways and are 12 feet tall and beyond. The cemetery itself is on the side of a mountain. Tanja @ 2006-10-24
